Round 24 delivered plenty of theatre under the roof at Docklands on Thursday, 20 Aug, 7:30 pm AEST, with the Gold Coast Suns putting on a scoring clinic to overrun St Kilda 103–80. St Kilda rolled into this clash coming off a strong win after defeating Richmond 94–45, whereas the Gold Coast Suns were heading in following a loss after going down 53–95 against the Brisbane Lions.
Pre-match markets had St Kilda priced as clear favourites at 1.43 in the head-to-head, with the Gold Coast Suns available at 2.85. The line was set at 15.5 points, but the Suns threw the script out the window with a dominant display that flipped the expectations right on their head.
